20 Things Worth Slowing Down For

I’m not classically a very productive person – my natural state is to not make plans (whether with work or with the kids) and to go where the wind blows me. And with the onset of some glorious sunshine today, I’m taking Radiohead’s lyrics ‘‘Hey Man, Slow down’ even more to heart and thinking about all the things really worth slowing down for. Writing a letter

Doodling on a piece of paper for no particular reason

Heating milk in a pan

Arranging flowers

Chatting to the postman

Sitting on the toilet

Deseeding pomegranates

Hanging out the washing

Waiting for the kettle to boil

Texting someone to tell them that you think they’re amazing

Reading maps

Putting on a slick of mascara

Getting dressed in something that makes you feel really good

Running back for a kiss once your person is already half way down the road

Cleaning out your fridge

Getting down on your knees to look into your kid’s eyes and tell them that you love them

Holding a teething tired baby

Planting flowers / vegetables…anything!

Making pizza dough from scratch

Giving yourself a massage

What do you consider worth slowing down for?

Playtime/tummy time or breastd feeding with a newborn. My second time around and I am trying to savor it cause I remember how quick it goes.
